Nikole Haumont interviews Amber Henline about why she chose to start a non-profit in her community of Cedar Rapids, IA and how it is impacting lives of those who need it the most.
Amber Henline is the Executive Director and founder of The Wellness Center – a non-profit organization. Its mission is to connect our community with alternative solutions for chronic pain & disease through preventative therapies to set up future generations for lifelong health. She had no background in non-profit, startups, no experience in fundraising, just a calling to do what needed to be done…so she learned how & she did it.
Her professional background is in Law Enforcement and shifted to Massage Therapy 3 years ago. She started her own therapy business and started seeing broken pieces connected with our current healthcare system surrounding preventative care. Through the process of learning & growing The Wellness Center, she has spread her message & mission throughout our community. She has gained a reputation for being a trusted voice in our community on this subject. She was interviewed by KCRG as well as KWWL, local radio & numerous speaking opportunities regarding preventative healthcare practices. Her organization’s programs have received several small grants, sponsors & endorsements including KCRG Show You Care & The Healthiest State Initiative.
